From pencils to paperie

Handmade with character

I don’t remember a time in my life where I wasn’t making things with my hands. Drawing and storytelling were always the things that I wanted to do.

From this passion as a child, I grew up to graduate Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Entertainment Art and Animation as an adult. After graduation, I was still eager to learn all that I could about the film making process. I went on to work within the entertainment industry for both live action and animated projects. From a Gaffer to an Editor, to Storyboard Artist and Assistant Director, and everything in between. All this while working as a Character Designer in Animation for studios like Marvel and Mattel.

At the end of 2020, a strange thing happened after I sent out over 200 holiday cards to friends and family. I was yearning for a way to connect with the arts and others. Even though I couldn’t physically be there to wish my loved ones a Happy New Year, those cards offered a personal and physical way I could still connect with them. From this, my love for stationery began. This journey led me to many wonderful places, including starting my own stationery shop in 2021, and attending various paper making workshops from skilled Japanese Washi artisans in Tokyo in 2022. I craft, and hand-curate all of my materials and craft my own supplies, with sometimes my sealing wax and paper itself being made entirely from scratch at my studio.

Heart and Story

From the texture of handmade paper, to the line weight of a pencil, delicate details that spark the imagination within others are the joys I thrive upon. I seek the human touch and intricate technique present in the classic works of artistry I grew up with. Masterworks in classic animation that inspired me as a child, and that fill my creative spirit in adulthood.

I love animation because it is a combination of every art form, including music, storytelling, and draftsmanship. I came to adore paper making and invitation design because it takes the foundations of these various arts, and translates them into tactile items that we use for the most precious of occasions, to tell our own stories.

In everything I do, I aim to value story, craftsmanship, and the human soul above all else. I am honored whenever I am granted the opportunity to help another soul tell their unique story.
